For Parents & Athletes
ZortsID Requirements for Athletes

All athletes must have a ZortsID to participate:

  • Cost: $12.80 (valid for one year from purchase date).

  • If the athlete already has one, they can link their existing ZortsID.

  • If they do not, they must purchase a ZortsID.

To obtain a ZortsID athletes must upload:

  1. One official form of identification:

    • ✅ State/federal birth certificate (no hospital keepsakes)

    • ✅ Passport

    • ✅ State Issued ID
     
    • ❌ Military IDs and visas are not accepted

  2. A headshot photo that meets the following requirements:

    • Must be a clear, front-facing headshot of the athlete

    • Athlete should be alone in the photo

    • No hats, bows, or headbands covering the face

    • Neutral background (plain wall preferred)

    • No filters or effects

 

18 and Over Athletes

Background Checks Are Required - and must be completed within the last 12 months.

Athletes will need to obtain a background check separately through a provider of their choice. Once completed, they can send the results to cheerdocs@zortssports.com for review.

Below is a link where you can purchase a basic background check through Protect Youth Sports, the third party company that processes background checks for Zorts.

Crossover Athletes
  • Open Championship Series Events     If an athlete is participating in multiple routines, each routine will be listed separately, and the athlete must be registered under every routine they are part of. Once registration in RegChamp is completed, the head coach will receive an invitation for each routine.

  • Event Producer EventsIf an athlete is participating in multiple routines, they only need to be added to their gym’s roster once for each event they attend.

All coaches must have a ZortsID to participate and a Valid Background Check:

To obtain a ZortsID, coaches must upload:

Background Check Requirement:

  • Coaches must have a Zorts purchased or other cleared and uploaded background check
  • Background check must be valid within the past 12 months

Multiple Team Requirement:

  • Coaches who are coaching more than one team within the organization must be listed on each team’s roster
  • This is done by linking their ZortsID and signing waivers for each team

 

Renewing ZortsID & Eligibility for Future Events

Your ZortsID will be eligible for any event you attend within one year of approval. However, if you register for an event and your card is set to expire before the event concludes, you will need to renew to remain eligible. You can renew at any time. This ensures your participation is always current and uninterrupted.

To further reduce risk, we employ compartmentalized data storage, isolating datasets so that even in the unlikely event of a breach, information remains protected and unusable.

Biometric Information

We take biometric measurements only from the photo you upload — nothing else. To protect your privacy, this biometric data is stored in a format that is unusable, unrecognizable, and by itself can’t be associated with you or any other individual. It is encrypted at rest and in transit.

Your biometric data is kept in its own secure system, separate from your personal profile information, with special access controls. Even if one system were hacked, there’s no way to connect that biometric data to your name, photo, or any other personal details.
